Overview of materials
Materials that make the difference
A table frame made of wood or metal, the backrest made of fabric or network? There are numerous materials to choose from when designing your office - but what does it really matter? We help you to keep a perspective! In our material overview you will find everything you need to know about the different materials, your advantages and possible uses. So you can design your office furnishings in a targeted and informed manner.
Wood materials
Not everything that shines is made of wood? Yeah right. We show you the individual wood materials from which our furniture are:
-
E1 flat press plate
Flat pressures are the best -known subgroup of the chipboard. The multi -layer plates are pressed from different sizes and glued chips. The outer layers almost always consist of the finer chip material in order to seal them with different decorative coatings or veneer (see coatings). The emission class E1 means an extremely low pollutant tax, namely no more than 0.10 ppm formaldehyde (pollutant). In short: the quality of your room air, and therefore also your health, is not harmed.
Special features- Resource -saving to the environment
- Cheaper and lighter than solid wood furniture
- Do not warp when fluctuations in the temperature and humidity
- Long durability
- Easier transport
-
MDF = medium -density fiber panels
In terms of structure, it is very compatible with the flat -pressed plate. In her, too, wood components are pressed into a plate with the addition of adhesive materials. The significant difference here: finely fiber wood. This gives MDF plates a particularly high break-in and bending strength and therefore also have more weight. They are also refined with decorative coatings or veneers.
Special features- Small surfaces on both sides
- Cheaper than solid wood furniture
- Do not warp when fluctuations in the temperature and humidity
- Very long shelf life
- Suitable for the Swiss edge
-
Solid wood
Solid wood, or solid wood, denotes wood products in which the wood is assigned to a specific tree species. Such furniture is mostly natural processed, which means that mechanical or chemical agents are not used in the treatment of the material. In order to make a piece of furniture out of the tree trunk, individual boards or squared woods are sawn. These are then glued together and pressed.
Special features- Unique: tree structure and wide growth rings are unique and create a striking pattern
- Most natural form of the wood: scratches and dents can be eliminated by grinding
- More expensive than veneer wood
- Has a lot more weight than commercially available furniture made of flat -pressed plates
- Very durable and robust
- Changes its color over time
Coatings
Is my desk even scratch -resistant? What happens when water is buried? Or worse - the coffee? Well ... a shame about the good coffee, but the table is relatively sniffing! Here you can find out why:
-
Melamine
Melamine is a colorless substance that is used for the production of resins and glue, as well as thuroplasts. Our robust and easy -care melamine resin coating can also withstand large loads. It is extremely scratch -resistant, water -absorbing and light -resistant. Select the right surface coating from many appealing colors.
Special features- Resource -saving to the environment
- Cheaper and lighter than solid wood furniture
- Do not warp when fluctuations in the temperature and humidity
- Long durability
- Easier transport
-
Real wood veneer
By veneer, or real wood veneer, you understand millimeter thick leaves (slices) made of wood. These are separated from the wooden trunk, by various sawing or cutting processes. The cut wooden leaf is glued onto a so-called carrier plate (e.g. chipboard or MDF plate). Furniere therefore does not refer to the main material of a piece of furniture, but only its visible surface coating. Because the natural wooden leaves are applied to the carrier plate, it is possible to keep the continuous grain of the wood. High quality processed veneer plates look as if they were made from one piece.
Special features- Highest haptic value
- Creates a real wooden surface
- Will be darker over time
- More sensitive than melamine. Must be protected from deep scratches, intensive exposure to light and long -term contact with liquids
-
HPL
The decorative high -pressure laminate (High Pressure Laminate) is a material that is created as a result of the pressing of several layers of the harmed paper, under the influence of high pressure and high temperature. The upper layer is the decoration paper that is impregnated with melamine resin. Thanks to the use of special punching and pressing techniques, the creation of hard and resistant areas is possible, the unique and unique resistance-proof surface of which is ideal for interior design.
Special features- High blow and scratch resistance, as well as temperature resistance
- Bend and tear resistance
- Chemical resistance
- High color resistance to UV radiation
- Suitable for the Swiss edge
- Even identical surface pressure
-
HPL-Fenix
Here we are dealing with an extremely matt nanotech material that gives surfaces a noble, velvety touch. Due to its positive properties, it is suitable for both horizontal and vertical areas- whether in residential or commercial rooms. The decorative surface is refined by a special nanotechnology and the use of a special manufacturing process and therefore has a velvety feel. Metals
It doesn't have to be a heavy metal. Polished, chrome -plated or coated is also possible!
-
metal
The combination of wood and metal is typical of the popular facility in the industrial style. All of our metal elements are resistant and easy to clean. Above all, metal surfaces with a particularly scratch -resistant surface score. In our large selection of functional stool and table frames, the right version is included for each facility.

- Resistant to scratches and fingerprints
- Multiple assembly and disassembly does not affect the material quality
Plexiglass
Looks like glass, but can do more - plexiglas convinces with ease and stability!
-
PMMA = polymethyl methacrylate
This is the actual name of plexi, acrylic or artificial glass. So it is not a glass, but a transparent plastic disc. This type of plastic is part of the group of thermoplastics. These are made of 100 % recycled plastic and have a high load capacity with a relatively low plate weight and good to very good thermal insulation. Plexiglass is light, break-proof, formable, color and food-safe, light-leading and weather-resistant.
Special features- Uniform matt surface thanks to two satinice surfaces
- Resistant to scratches and fingerprints
- 100 % recyclable
